My blog is PCSing

I've mulled, debated, pondered, squandered and tossed the idea of moving to a different blog.  I've finally succumbed to WordPress.  What is WordPress, you ask?  Well, it's like Blogger but in WordPress I have the ability to catgorize different subjects like "Hair", my "Ponderings" and of course "the Boy"!  So, for all of you faithful readers I am sort of turning my hobby into a more organized hobby!  Greaaaat... you say.  Well, for all of you nayayers out there...Poo on you!  For all of you excited followers, think of this as a more convenient way to keep up with me and my little family.

I will officially send out an email to all of my blog-followers by the end of this week!  I've been painstakingly creating my new blog with widgets and tabs and whatever else I can do on it!  I'm nervous, yet excited about this new venture.  This here little blog, will still be around for people to look back and find your favorite pictures or posts but after today I will no longer be updating my Blogger blog.

My blogging style will not change.  I will still have the same personality, the same writing style just with a new wardrobe.  Thank you for being my Blogger friend and I hope that you will join me at WordPress.

*Oh!  And for those that have been waiting for that damn recipe for Oreo Balls, it will eventually be on the new blog!  I promise!  Still haven't gotten around to getting that disappearing cream cheese!

A little Tease

I haven't had time yet to take pictures of the Oreo Balls recipe!  I'm so excited about this one it's ridiculous!  These little balls are so pleasurable, it's insane!  I've bought all the ingredients but the commissary was out of cream cheese!  Now tell me, how does a grocery store run out of cream cheese?  Hmmm, no answer for that one?!  Me either!  Life on the island has it's disadvantages too.  Like running out of cream cheese.  What the heck?!

On another note:  Week 1 of TDY is down, 1 and a half to go!  I've gotten word that the hubs has been shopping like a hooker in a profilactic store!  Except for he's not shopping for profilactics!  And...he's not a hooker!  He's shopping for the tiny man in the house!  I believe that one of the emails said something to the fact that he's bought 17 t-shirts for the boy!  Umm, I think that Boog will be good to go for the next couple of months without me having to wash a single top!  Score!

*Warning!  Forgive me and my dirty analogy.  But it's what came out of my head as I was writing.  And that's how I write...as it comes out of my head.

One more note:  I will try to get to the other commissary and get some darn cream cheese so I can make the Oreo Balls!

One more note again:  If you look over to the right, you'll see that I am Twittering.  Which means to all of you, that you should get on Twitter and sign up so that we can Twitter back and forth!  I'm serious when I say it's more fun than Facebook!  So much easier too!  When I Twitter, all I have to do is write down exactly how I'm feeling or what I'm doing.  That's it.  Then I take a gander @ whoever else I'm following and then sign out.  Simple right?!  Except for I do it like 10 times a day!  What?  You say I have too much time on my hands?  Well, if you worked out of your home and had to correspond by email all day with your clients, why not Twitter?  If you don't, you know I'm totally call you lame-o!  Which, by the way Pj says to me today, "What's your name-o?!"  I told him B-I-N-G-O.

B-O-R-I-N-G

I've been a little boring these days. Honestly, there hasn't been all the much excitement in the Borud house. Let me think....

1. Paul and I got knew cell phones with a spectacular plan to call anywhere in the Continental U.S for $30 a month! I've already called my Mom and Dad and my friend Karen. So if you want us to give you a ring just email me with your phone number and I'll put you on the list! I guess Hawaii is not in the Continental U.S. so if I have any friends there, don't bother emailing me. :)

2. Paul and I attended The Kadena Wine Fest on Friday night. We drank lots of wine and went home to play baseball on the Wii.

3. A couple of weekends ago, the 3 of us went to OuraWan on Camp Schwab with a bunch of friends and we had a blasty blast with them! We had lots of fun despite the rainstorm all weekend! On Sunday morning, the day we checked out, the sun was shining and snickered at us all the way home.

4. Since the beginning of this season's American Idol, every Wednesday night we gather at friends' houses to commisserate and eat nummy food and cheer on our favvies. This past Wednesday was my turn and we had Tator Tot Hotdish. My 2 young friends smothered thier helpings with ketchup. Not how I like it but I guess it was better than smothering it with Mustard (thier #1 choice).

5. I made Oreo Balls for them too!

6. You'll have to find out what Oreo Balls are later! Tee hee!

7. The night before, I made Chicken Chili. If I feel like it, I may let you in on that secret also.

8. This Friday, I will be trying out a new recipe for Hot Corn Dip. Yummy!

9. I've been trying out new recipes lately. Well, I had every intention to make Chicken Chili and the Oreo Balls myself but work seemed to interfere. Really.

10. Pj got knew shoes.

Struggled with that last one. Couldn't think of anything super exciting. I told ya, life in the Borud house has been a little blah.

Oh! BTW, We are Paul-less for 2 weeks. TDY sucks dog poo. Not that I know what dog poo tastes like. But my brother Brad knows what dog food tastes like. Not that he would admit to eating that stuff. Or maybe he would. I'm not sure about that one. It's been awhile since I've talked to him. Oh great! He'll probably be the 1st email I get to call and I will get an ass chewing. Oh great! I totally swore and I gave that up for Lent. Must go pray now.

Baby Bumblebee

So Pj taught Paul and I the Baby Bumblebee song the other night. We had been out for supper and ran a quick errand, when somewhere between entering the Gate and home, he started singing this song. He had been quiet and then all of a sudden he started singing, "Blah, blah, blah, baby bumblebee, blah, blah, blah Mommy blah!" I had to ask him 3 or 4 times to sing the song again until I finally figured out that he was singing about a baby bumblebee! Poor thing! So I googled (Kimberly'ed) it and found the music and the lyrics to what my baby was singing in the car. Check it out! If you would just do me a favor and picture my little man with his limited english, singing in the car next to you. Sweet, adorable little man! I should also note that after singing the Bumblebee song 6 or 8 times, he went straight into singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star followed by I Like to Move it, Move it! G'ahead and picture that one! Funny! Had me crackin' up all the way home!

Pound it!

I think it was Margot's boys that taught Pj how to bump their knuckles together as a sort of brotherhood bonding. Every time we see the boys or any other boys including the Housing Maintenance crews that come out to fix my leaky faucet or my cabinet door that fell off it's hinges, we must "pound it" with them. He's usually pretty good at it. Sometimes he fails to hit the target. But in any case it's really cute.
Not quite...hand got all twisted up!

Sure! I'll hold your hand! Still not it!

Well there we go! I think we've got it!

On a side note...There's this little website called Okinawa Hai. I only discovered it from one of my clients who actually works as an editor for it. I had cut her hair a couple of times and it wasn't until months later I decided I needed to check it out. When I did, I couldn't help but get sucked into it. Basically what this website does is to help those that are coming to the island, kinda get an idea of what to expect when they get here. Also, it helps those of us who have been here for awhile and are just looking for something new to do. If you remember back, I wrote to the ToEat editor and submitted an entry on a restaurant called Geuletone. And then the one about a month ago on the 50's Cafe and the one a couple of weeks ago on Perestroika the Russian Restaurant. Well, Joelle the ToWork editor emailed me about a week ago with a template to fill out for her section on working in Okinawa. Of course I was going to fill it out! It was super easy. I filled it out between 3 tantrums, making dinner and booking appointments.

When I woke up this morning, I went to check my emails like I usually do and Joelle asked me for 1 more picture and asked a couple more questions and then she said my post would be up in a few! A few?! Minutes? Hours? Days? Oh dear God, I sure hope I filled that thing out without cussing or making myself sound like an ass!

Well, it's up and I guess you guys can be the judge.

BTW, After that post went up I had a buttload of emails in my salon account. I was a busy little bee this afternoon!

Update on the shoulder- Feeling good, 800 mg. Motrin helps, the muscle relaxer at bedtime helps a lot too! I will be back to work tomorrow! I have a feeling I will be sore after a booked day, but worth it! My clients will be happy.

Anyway...With the last 2 days being off, I need to get my butt into bed so I can be fresh and ready to do some major hair tomorrow! Let's just hope that the arm doesn't pop out again. That may prove to be difficult...

Skater Boy

The little man often times goes over to my friend Margot's house for an occasional night out for us and for some time to play with her 2 boys who are very avid skateboarders. Naturally, Pj is crazy about everything those 2 boys do. They've taught him how to balance and do "tricks" on the board. Pj's tricks consist of getting off the board and getting back on the board. Remember, he is only 2!

My dear, dear other half decided that it would be a great idea to get Pj a skateboard of his own. Yes, 'tis true. I let him order the board and a cool Diego helmet and knee pads. You see, it seems that Margot and I talk each other into buying things that niether one of us really needs. I think this may not be the best thing about our friendship, but we do enjoy each other's company. She knows not to piss me off because it's her hair at stake here.

Just the other day, the skateboard, helmet and knee pads arrived in the mail. When the boys came home from work/daycare, we had Pj open up the skateboard and he immediately proceeded to get on it and play. Then he opened the helmet and knee pads and I don't think Paul could get changed fast enough so they could go outside and try it out! We were out there for at least an hour before I decided to break the news to them that it was time to put it away and head over to our friend's house for our American Idol dinner night. You would've thought I was pulling teeth out.
Our life here just hasn't been the same since the board. It's seems it's all Pj thinks about. Paul couldn't be more proud of his little man. Today, while I got to play a little volleyball with a friend Paul and Pj headed out to the local Sports Depot to get Daddy a board so they could hang out and learn it together. Dear Lord, look after the big one! The big one actually knows how to make the board move. The little one... not so much.
Am I gonna get a skateboard? Well funny you should ask. Seems as though, now that I am 31 I can't control my body anymore. Remember I mentioned playing volleyball with a friend? Had it not been for these old muscles and joints, I'd have been just fine. A little sore, but fine. Well, there's these 2 appendages called arms on my body. They apparently don't have the muscle and flexiblity they used to have. The left one is usually not the strongest but I am right-handed. Nobody should expect it to be very strong. Well the damn thing should have just been dangling there today. I tried using it and stuck my arm out to save the ball from hitting the floor and something inside my left shoulder went "Snap, Crackle, Pop!" Not the best feeling I've ever had. But I shook it off and went about my play. Somewhere in the 2nd to the last set, I heard it "pop" again. This time it took a lot longer to shake off. I held it together and squeezed my shoulders a little bit and then it went "pop" again and it felt like it slipped back into place. Now, any normal person would say, "I'm out guys! Somethin's just not right!" But noooooo, I'm the dumbass who says, "Can't feel it, but it moves. Game on!" Apparently, my judgement is impaired also. Answer to the question: No sir! Age is not on my side. And I've never really been good with balance. I did try to stand on the board but stumbled right off.

Well, right now I am sitting on the couch writing this post and my poor arm will only let me type. It took 10 extra minutes to take a shower this evening because I couldn't get my left arm out of my shirt or my sportsbra! There was absolutely no way I was going to ask Paul for help. I was ambarassed enough, I was not going to ask him to undress me. There will be a doctor's visit in store for me. Hopefully in the morning. I've still gotta do hair tomorrow. If I can't, how will I explain this to my clients?! Oh dear God, they'll be so mad at me! Paul says it's hindsight 20/20. I say it's my fault for thinking I was 20 again. The last time I played volleyball was when I still lived in Alexandria. Paul and I were still dating. What was I thinking?!

With a muscle relaxer and an 800 mg. Motrin in me, it's taking all I got to finish writing. But I wanted to make sure you got to see the little man on his board.

As for myself, I'm headed to the bed to pass the heck out! If you all want to say a little ditty for me and my shoulder, it'd be much appreciated!

Huggies!
